For years, Jolene showed up for Tracy.
Jolene & Loki
A pair many longtime customers remember.
Loki was more than Jolene's pet—he was part of the personality of Tracy Mail & More and a store mascot that customers came to know.
Jolene is the wife of Brian Federico Sr., mother to Brian “Joey” Federico Jr. and Dakota Federico, daughter of Rita Morris Federico, and a familiar face to generations of Tracy families.
Her family has lived, worked, and invested in the Tracy area for more than 30 years. For more than 20 of those years, Jolene has owned and operated Tracy Mail & More—helping neighbors through small-business dreams, family milestones, and everyday life.
About five months before the family launched the fundraiser, Jolene suffered what was initially believed to be a stroke. Further testing led to a diagnosis of glioblastoma, an aggressive and fast-growing brain cancer. She underwent extensive neurosurgery and radiation treatment.
During recovery, Jolene developed a severe E. coli infection in her brain. The rare, life-threatening complication required prolonged hospitalization, intensive antibiotics, continuous monitoring, and round-the-clock medical care before she stabilized enough to return home.
Her family is now navigating treatment, rehabilitation, round-the-clock in-home care, medical equipment, home modifications, and the loss of income from her inability to run the business as before.
